A Working Flower Shop
Owner: Scott McCool In Bloom was opened in October 1990, by Scott McCool with
a goal of creating a working flower shop that would raise the bar on the standard
of excellence on fresh flowers in Houston. The concept of "a working
flower shop" allows him to import the finest flowers from Holland, Central
America, Hawaii and other domestic origins. This quality of product, combined
with an atmosphere of unbridled creativity makes for unlimited design possibilities.
Scott's keen sense of style, paired with his seasoned design staff, produce
a vast array of design styles ranging from simple to elaborate.
After ten years of business in Houston, Scott moved his operation to a five
thousand square foot shop/warehouse on Fairview at Montrose Blvd. This new
location has proven to be the perfect staging area for any number of seasonal
installations, charity benefits, weddings and daily order production. This
warehouse provides over 300 square feet of cooler space and room to house
some of the most unique containers and fixtures in Houston. Scott and his
team can accommodate even the most challenging of requests.
Scott McCool holds a degree in Retail Floral Design Management from Mississippi
State University. He has been a member of the American Institute of Floral
Design since 1980 and has participated in several National Symposiums on floral
standards of excellence. He has contributed his design experience to events
ranging from the Rose Bowl Parade to the Kentucky Derby. Scott has been named
as a National Designer for Florafax International, as well as Designer of
the Year and Texas State Designer of the Year.
